This is the second episode in the series, asking the question ” What is social media?”. However this time, we focus on social media in the workplace. Joining me for this topic are my guests Christine Mcleod, Chief Possibilities Officer and Founder of IMPACT99 and Pam Ross, Chief Experience Officer and Partner of IMPACT99; both are Human Resources, Business Leaders with a wealth of knowledge in their field. I met both Christine and Pam at the IMPACT 99 conference last year. A jammed packed conference that totally energized its audience. Read my post on that amazing event. So I am thrilled that they will join me for this episode!

There has been a lot of press on social media use in the workplace – from its official to unofficial use for business. We will surface the current perceptions of social media in the workplace and offer a definition from a people practice and organizational culture perspective. This will be an insightful conversation about the current organizational trends and “ownership” of social media. We will attempt to answer the question of why People Managers and Human Resources Professionals need to build their social media digital IQ; how it can be a valuable asset for both the business and employees. We will have a healthy discussion on personal branding versus business branding and the implications of social media to the organization’s culture.
So join me on May 24th, on Voice America, the business channel, at 5pm PST / 8pm EST for this episode.
